Publix trips 4/15 and 4/17 and Winn Dixie 4/15

You would think with all the shopping that I do that I would have food coming out of my ears and overflowing in my house but this in not the case. The pantry items are stocked but its the fresh foods and fridge items that get used everyday that I have to continuously purchase. These items includes milk, veggies, fruit, eggs, bread and yogurt. Of course most of these items do not have coupons to help lower the cost. Usually I will have to work up a deal buying other items to bring the cost of these items down, which I have done with purchasing the Splenda and Smart Balance butter.  These items were both money makers.

On the trip above at Publix I spent $4.59 and saved $62.63.  In this trip the sunlight, mullers yogurt, splenda, smithfield ham, and smart balance butter were all money makers. They helped lower the cost of my veggies, fruit, pickles, and milk.

At Winn Dixie I spent $2.90 and saved $75.20.
I have been saving my Enfagrow coupons for a bogo sale on the milk which just so happened to come around this week. So that's how I got this stuff soo cheap!! I also had 2 $7 manufacturer checks to use on them as well. Winn Dixie also gives you double gas perks on baby items so I earned .30 in fuel perks, which if I use all 20 gallons will come up to $6.00 bucks in savings on gas. So essentially this trip was a money maker! My car unfortunately only takes around 12 gallons so basically I will only save $3.60 on gas. Still a great deal!

On this Publix trip I did two transactions. I spent a total of $5.04 and saved $80.13. I also got a 1/2 gallon of orange juice which I forgot to take a picture of. Not a bad deal for all of this stuff! I mean considering I got yogurt, milk, bread, juice, eggs, bagels, and asparagus I did pretty awesome!

On another note, we have been battling a cold for over a week now. Its just lingering!!! I don't know why I have gotten so sick so many times lately but for some reason we just keep catching something.

I have one week to prep and get ready for Hannah's 3rd birthday and to get ready for our 6 night Carnival cruise, which I am soo excited about! We haven't been on a cruise since our honeymoon 2 years ago and I am itching for a nice vacation. I love cruising!! It's one of my favorite things to do. Tom and I used to go all the time, we have gone on over 10 cruises but since we had kids and bought a house, well 2 houses vacations kind of went on the back burner. Hopefully we can get back to going at least once a year.

Coupon clutch

This is the Thirty-One coupon clutch that I bought online. Its made of a nice material and cloth on the inside. It was kind of expensive (around $22.00) but I know it will last longer then the plastic ones you can find, and well its just prettier and it zips all the way around so nothing will fall out.

It has 5 sleeves and tabs. I have labels for Winn Dixie, Target, CVS, and Walmart and one that I didn't fill out. I will put coupons for each store that I know I will want to use there. For instance my Target sleeve has my baby wipes coupons because there is a sale going on this week. So when I go to Target I will just look at what coupons are in there and check to see if the store has the products. I keep this in my purse at all times because you never know when or where you will end up in a store where you might need your coupons. This goes for my Publix envelope as well. I always keep it in my purse and it always has those nice little $5/30 Winn Dixie coupons in there, just incase we make an unexpected trip.

Coupon organization and planning

Ok so I will try to explain a little bit of my method to my madness when it comes to organizing my coupons and planning out my trips. My organization is kind of a mess right now and is all over the place but it seems to workout for me the way it is.

I have a little desk area in my kitchen where I keep my coupons and purse and bills and what not as you can see in the picture below.  It looks a little messy right now because I haven't cleaned it out in a bit.

I used to keep all my coupons in a binder with baseball card sleeves and I would cut all the coupons out each week and then sort them by catagory in each little sleeve. This was very time consuming and a pain to have to continuiously go through the binder searching for expired coupons. I was also not using very many insert coupons. So now I stack my inserts by date in this manilla folder at the back of my box that has my planner and other documents in it. Also on the left of this box is a small binder where the coupons that I have cut are sorted in plastic envelopes by catagory.

This is a picture of my small binder with the cut coupons.

For my food coupons I just stick them in this pencil case. There are alot of food coupons and they don't fit in the little binder.

I put all of the "hot" coupons that I know I will use in a plastic envelope (currently on my dining room table) along with my scissors, calculator and paper for writing out my lists. When the weekly ad is posted I will write down what I want and then search for my coupons and work on making out my lists in $30 increments.  I usually will tweak my list a bunch of times before Thursday when the ad starts.

This is the plastic envelope that I keep in my purse for Publix. I put my list with all my coupons in there and I have other coupons for just in case scenarios where I may need a filler. There is also a copy of the stores coupon policy.

This is what my list looks like that I take to the store with me. This is an actual trip which I hope to do this week. I write out the quantity of the item, the total price it will cost and then minus the value of coupons I have. So I know what my total should be (minus tax) when I get to the register.

Oh I forgot to show my new coupon clutch, I will post that next.

Publix 4/13 coupon trip

I had a great trip today, I think couponing is like therapy, it just makes me happy getting so much stuff for so cheap. I did three transactions at one store. I spent $3.38 and saved $147.39, I think it should of actually been a $1 cheaper because the cashier missed one coupon but I didn't feel like going back so I let it slide. I have two more cheap trips planned for this ad, hopefully they will go as good as this one.

4/12 Publix Trip

This is not originally how my trip was suppose to go but after the store didn't have one of my major items I had to take 2 trips and put it into 1. So I spent $16 and saved $44. I needed stuff for my Dr. Pepper pork that I'm gonna make tomorrow along with some potato salad. I have a few more trips planned which I hope to get done tomorrow, so they should make up for this expensive trip.

4/5 Publix run

I'm starting to use Cheryl's method of shopping. Do one small trip, bring it to the car and then come back and do another trip. It has worked out so far.

Here is what I bought in two small trips today:
1 gallon of milk
1 dozen eggs
4 mullers yogurt
3 maxwell iced lattes
2 eggo waffles
1 barber frozen chicken
4 dove deoderant
4 lysol wipes
2 splenda boxes
2 beechnut fruities
4 beechnut baby food
8 honest tea
3 motrin travel size
1 chapstick
2 bulls eye bbq sauce
2 covergirl eye shadow
1 lunchables

Total spent $7.16, saved $86.26, that equals only .16 cents an item!! WOOT WOOT! Ha. Some weeks are just so much better then others!

Third Publix trip this week!

I'm getting a good workout this week running into Publix. I wasn't going to go at all cause I'm pretty stocked up but I can't pass up the good deals this week especially on the Lysol, and Dove deoderant, and overage on the chapstick!

Here's what I got:
1 gallon of milk
2 jones sausage
2 dove deoderant
1 enfagrow large can
6 splenda antioxidants
2 mullers yogurt
4 chapsticks

spent $8.08, saved $44.12
the only reason why I really did this trip is because I was out of the Enfagrow and Hailey seems to prefer this over whole milk so I'm gonna keep getting it for her. I would have done better if I had a manufacturers check to use but I didn't, still did really good though!

4/1 and 4/2 Publix trips

Spent $8.51, saved $140.79!!!
