Sewing Room

There is alot of work to be done in the sewing room.
I need to get a good sewing chair, another work table for cutting and ironing, a tv stand, and I want to hang rods along the wall so that I can hang quilts for display.
I did manage to get a nice chaise for the window. I just love it and I got a great deal on it at the discount store, 99 bucks!! Can't beat that. It has a small repair spot on the arm but you can barely tell.

Living room

This by no means is the finished project. I just wanted to show you our new furniture that we got. We bought alot of it! A loveseat, recliner, and L shaped sofa. I think it fills the room nicely and gives us plenty of options to sit. Plus there is room for company.

I need to make some throw pillows, get some new lamps for the end tables, get an area rug and then decide what kind of pictures I'm going to hang. Just add all of those to the to do list too.

The new closet

Remember the closet shelf that fell off of the wall, well my wonderful parents who came to visit me last weekend fixed it. My dad built a whole new shelf which is much stronger and fits the whole length of the wall. I love it.

I also added more shoe racks because for some reason I have way too many shoes which I probably will never wear.

For now these wire crates are going to have to do. I plan on getting some more nice organizers for the closet but that's on the back burner of the to do list.
And oh man oh man, the to do list is long and my pockets are really short!!

Lack of blogging...and sewing

Sorry I haven't been able to post any exciting things lately. Moving takes alot of work. It's crazy how fast Home Depot becomes your new best friend. We will finally have living room furniture tomorrow and then hopefully start on the kitchen in the next few weeks, then I can start to organize the place, because right now its a mess! I did manage to get one room all set up already, can you guess which one? The sewing room, ha! I found a wonderful chaise chair for the room and I painted the walls. Plus I got a new bookcase to hold and display my fabric. So hopefully I will get back to sewing soon. I am eager to finish some quilts and make myself a new purse. Plus I have to start on a baby gift for a friend at work.

I will post pictures soon. My parents and little sister Gabby just came in town so we are going to enjoy some time together and then by next weekend I might have time to sit down at my sewing machine.

First Catastrophie

Whatever idiot hung up the closet rack didn't do it right and it broke off the wall while we were out cleaning the old house. So um yeah thats where the clothes are going to stay for now. I need to get someone to fix this. Ugh!

More pics of our house

Here is our dining room, um yeah the paint colors are going!!

Here is part of the kitchen, you can see part of my new fridge on the right. The kitchen is going too. ha!

Here is our bedroom

Here is Chipper guarding Tom's "Man Room" ha!!

Here is Oscar checking out the backyard.

MOVING

So this is our new house!! I have alot of yard work to do, well actually Tom does cause yard work is his problem now. Ha!

This is our living room, the only room that we painted. The yellow is the before picture and the blue and tan is the after picture. The blue is called Blue Agave and I love love love it. This is my favorite room in the house, probably becuase its the only one painted.

Moving is hard work and I never want to do it again, ok I won't say never but not for a very long time. Thank goodness for Tom's friends and family helping us cause we needed it. We have alot of stuff.
Anyways, as soon as I get more rooms a little more situated I will post more pictures.

Lesson Learned

This was my cute new purse that I had made and have been using for over a month now. I had the brilliant idea to wash it this afternoon because it was getting dirty. BIG MISTAKE! For some reason I thought that the dryer would help get the wrinkles out but that didn't work. This bag is ruined. I tried ironing it and the duck cloth that was used for the interfacing won't iron. I can't get the wrinkles out and the bag has like no shape anymore.
Ugh, what a waste. I guess I will just have to make another one. Sucks though cause I liked this one.
Lesson learned, don't wash your handbags in the washing machine.
I should of hand washed it.

Orange You Lucky

I feel like a teenager again and its ok.

I feel like a teenager again and I don't care because I am soo stinking excited for New Moon that its not even funny.
To keep you updated on all of the exciting news of this movie, which I know is going to be a huge hit, check out some of these Twilight/New Moon related blogs and websites.
Good stuff people really good stuff!!

P.S. It's good to feel oh so young again. It's nourishing for the soul. Even if its a stupid infatuation with Robert Pattinson and the Twilight Series.
I'm ok with it, really I am.
