New Handbag

So I made a new swing bag this weekend. I used some of my Anna Maria Horner fabric for the outside and on the inside I got some organic cotton from Joann's that is soo nice.
Oh and this is Mr. Pelican. He was watching us put the boat back on the trailer on Saturday. He was just floating along.

Does anyone recognize these fabrics??

I'm sure that my peeps in SC will know what this is. Yes its Vera Bradley fabric. If you look close enough you can see Vera Bradley written on the fabric. Somehow I found these 3 fat quarters at Joann's. Can you believe it? Now I'm like on a mission to find more. They will make good pouches I'm sure.
I'm just in love with Joann's at the moment.

OH and I think that I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I'm thinking because, yes I am OBSESSED with fabric...making things...and um Twilight.. yeah I know I have issues people. I guess I could find worse thing to occupy my time.

Pinwheel Quilt

I got this idea from the wonderful Moda Bake Shop blog. Theirs is a baby quilt but I'm thinking that mine will be a wall hanging for now. I still need to add a border of one of the prints and then sandwich and quilt together. This was my first time using white fabric. I'm a little scared because I normally get white stuff really dirty really quickly. I like the way that it turned out. I used 8 fat quarters of Amy Butler's Daisy Chain that I had. I still have alot of fabric left.

Fabulous fabric finds at Joann's

Who says that Joann's doesn't have good fabric like the quilt shops?? Not me. How about designers like Heather Ross? Um yeah thats what I found today at Joann's.
These are 3 prints from Heather Ross's West Hill collection. I found them in the fat quarter bundle section and they were on sale.

I also found these lovely Alexander Henry lemons. They are going to be used for some kitchen towels.

This pear print is my FAVORITE right now. It's Robert Kaufman's printed from Japan!! It's still $10 bucks a yard at Joann's but if its on sale or you use a coupon you can get a good deal. They have a few other cute prints from him as well I just didn't get them on this trip.
I have already used this print to make a kitchen towel and I just love it.
So go ahead, skip the quilt shop and head to Joann's to see what cute designer fabric you can find!!

Online Bloggers Quilt Festival

I saw this before but since Kelly signed up I figured that I would join in on the fun. Here is my favorite quilt so far. This is the only quilt that I have made and given away. It was a Christmas present for my Mom. Made from a Moda Jelly Roll of Cotton Blossom fabrics. I love how when you look at it you get different designs and the diamonds take on new forms.

Does anyone know how to cure an itchy weiner dog??? I think that he has dry skin or something because he doesn't have fleas and he keeps scratching himself like nonstop.

Brick Path Quilt Top Done

Here is my finished brick path quilt top done. Of course I used all Amy Butler fabrics.. because I love love love them. I can't decide if this should be made so that the bricks are horizontal or vertical. The pattern has them vertical so that's what I am leading towards.
I think that when this is finished I imagine it as a nice wall hanging in one of my future rooms. Maybe a sitting area or even in the bedroom and I will just get sheets to match.

Oh and unfortunately I didn't get the house that I bid on. Someone bid over the asking price so they beat me. I guess we will keep on looking.

Feeding my Addiction!!

Yeah to new fabric!! I fed my addiction today and splurged on some fabric. I actually got a really good deal and bought all of these fat quarters for only $2.14 a piece!!

These are two 1/2 yards that I got..I'm thinking another purse??

Ok so this is my next project. I'm making the Amy Butler Lotus Brick Pattern quilt except in these fabrics. I think that this one is going to be easy and awesome!! I think I'm gonna start sewing it now.

Oh and I made my first ever offer on a house!! Wish me luck, I'm not getting my hopes up cause its a stellar deal and I know that there are cash offers, but my realtor said that you never know.
Scary and exciting!!
