Hello Sunday!!

Well I had a miserable week with the worst cold ever, but I'm recovering and did a little bit of sewing this weekend to put me in a better mood.

Here is my quilt from my Oh Fransson's quilt along. I didn't add sashing and I switched up a few of the blocks. I think it turned out pretty good. I tried to do the free motion quilting on it and I can't get it down right so I gave up for now.

This is the back of my quilt. I just pieced together what I had leftover.

This is a little quilt that I finished today. I did random quilting on it since I can't do the free motion.

P.S. I want a new sewing machine!!! A fancy one that does quilting stitches!!

My blocks for Oh Fransson's quilt along

Here are my first two sets of blocks for my quilt. I'm kind of doing things out of order but I will get there eventually.

More Bags!!

Here are some more bags that I recently made.
This is a birdie sling bag that I made for Gabby.

This is a swing bag that I made for my sister Heather.

This is a new bag that I made for ME. I used a Simplicity pattern and some cool fabric from Hobby Lobby. I made this with the help of my mom and grandma. They always know more then I do.

Visit with the family

I just got back from a short trip to visit my family. I had a great time. I got to visit with both of my sisters so it was nice. I ate good and relaxed and just enjoyed everything.

I think that mom and Gabby took my camera cause when I got home this picture was on it. Crazy girls!!

To all you Twilight Fans out There!!

I have been reading up on all things Twilight lately and good news....New Moon is almost ready to start filming. I hear that Robert Pattionson is already in Vancouver, oh and Dakota Fanning has been confirmed to play Jane.
I can't wait for New Moon to come out in November!!! Hopefully it will be everything that the book was and more!!

Oh and less then 2 weeks until Twilight comes out on Dvd!

I'M EXCITED!!

New Shoes

So I went to Ross yesterday looking for some new shoes. I wanted some slip ons to wear when I go to South Carolina in 3 days. I found this really cool pair (sorry no pic) of Simple shoes which I have never heard of before. They were only $12.99 so I had to get them. I went home and did some research and these shoes originally were over $60 bucks!! Crazyness. Anyways, they are made from recycled tires, plastic bottles and organic cotton. Pretty environmentally friendly.

So today I went online and found a pair of Simple flip flops.

Aren't they cute??? I can't wait for them to arrive in the mail. They were originally $65 and I got them for $15 with free shipping, they were on sale!! I'm sure that they are much better then my normal flip flops from Target. I doubt that these will get here before I leave on Thursday but I will still have them soon.

Oh Fransson Quilt Along

So I'm trying to participate in this online quilt along from www.ohfransson.com. I changed my fabric ideas to the Tula Pink Flutterby collection. I have had a bunch of these fabrics in my stash for a while, just waiting for the perfect use.
Here are the prints that I decided to use for my quilt.
Today we got the instructions on how to cut the fabric. Man am I confused. I can't cut all of my fabric at once and lay it out on paper. I have to cut and then sew my block, its just how I'm used to doing it. Plus I don't get why some of the lengths are 8.5 inches when the finished block is suppose to be 8 inches. It seems that you will have to cut alot in the end to get your blocks equaled up.
So I'm thinking that I'm not going to follow the pattern exactly. I'm going to use the idea and then come up with something similar to the original pattern... kind of like what I did with my other quilt from the quilt shop that I did. Cause if its not fun for me to make and it requires too much of my brain then I will get bored and not want to do it. Ha!!
Wish me luck.

Sad news

I hate hearing about death and tragedy.

This week I followed the 4 football players who went out on a fishing trip from Clearwater on Saturday morning and went missing. Only one survivor was found by the coast guard. Very sad. It's crazy that they took such a small boat (21 feet) out over 40 miles away from shore in the gulf. I can't even imagine taking our little 18 foot boat out into the gulf, let alone miles and miles from shore, where you can't even see land anymore!! I know that many people do this all the time. Supposedly, the fishing is better out there because of reefs. It just doesn't seem safe to me, with such a small boat and 4 big guys on it.

Now I just read online about an animal kennel that had a propane explosion and 16 dogs died. The driver of the propane truck is also seriously injured and severely burned. Martha Stewart sadly lost her dog in this tragedy. Her new little chow chow puppy. Soo sad!

I know that bad/tragic stuff happens everyday, its just sometimes you take a minute and think about all the sad stuff that happens and it overwhelms you. Especially when it occurs around you and you can't do anything about it.

Maybe this week will be happier!

MORE SEWING PROJECTS!!

So I decided to participate in Oh Fransson'sQuilt along. This looks like alot of fun! Luckily for me I just happened to have 12 fat quarters of fabric for this quilt. I even have enough fabric for the backing...go Me!! The only thing that I need to get is the plain fabric, or a coordinating fabric for the sashing.

Nothing much else has been going on with me. Hating the cold weather!! House searching and eatting like crazy! I think that the cold weather makes me super hungry, don't worry its nothing else!

Here you go Auntie Diane

Here is your very own swing bag that I made you. I love the pattern and colors, perfect for spring and summer!! The blue and turquoise is the inside and it has pockets on each side.
Let me know if you want a sash to tie on it.

I hope that you like it!
