I Couldn't Resist

Using my new Heather Bailey fabrics. I made pillow covers that are attached to batting to make them extra comfy and to add more cushion to the pillows. They also have velcro on the back so that the cover stays closed.
I hope that Amy Butler doesn't get mad because she just got temporarily replaced. Ha ha!!
I think that I definately want to get more of this fabric so that I can make a nice comfy blanket to go along with the pillows. But that will probably be a while because I have just too many fabric projects in the works.

Oh and I made this cute little coin purse. I copied the humbug bag pattern that my mom got me. I'm going to give it to Laura cause she has been wanting something with this fabric, I pretty much used all of it for myself so I will give her this as a "teaser" until I get some more. I hope that Joann's hasn't run out of it yet.

Team Heidi

Well only because I got these wonderful jeans from my Auntie Diane. They came from my cousin's store that she works at, Anchor Blue. I just love my new jeans.

Does anyone even watch The Hills anymore? Seems like every episode is all about nothing! Same drama drama drama. I'm waiting to see if LC hooks up with Brody again or actually gets a decent relationship. Oh and I wish that LC would just forgive Heidi because life is too short to hold grudges against good friends.

Well anyways back to my fabric!! Ha.

Cool gifts from Kelly

My best bud Kelly gave me these wonderful fabric gifts. Don't you just love them? The round buttons are magnets that she made. How cute!!

Birthday Presents Opened Early!!

I couldn't resist opening presents early, especially since they came in the mail early.
My mom, dad, little little sister, and grandma sent me this wonderful box of fabric, patterns, Clemson hat, homemade cookies, a tea pot cover, and pin cushions.

My wonderful sister in Idaho sent me this cute Coach mini wallet, plus some candy and a shirt (which is already in the dirty laundry). Its my very first "real" Coach anything! I love it.

Oh and my dad also sent me a wonderful check in addition to the Clemson hat. Thanks dad!!

This is also a card from my friend Claes who lives in Sweden. We have never met before but we are great pen pals. A Happy Birthday goes out to him as well!!

PS-Can anyone tell that I need a new tablecloth? My red flowery one is the only one that I have and its like in every picture of mine. Ha!!
I should probably make one but I have too many projects running through my head to try to make one of those right now.

In over my head part 2

Ok so I couldnt' sleep last night because I kept thinking about FABRIC!! I have gone crazy. But I was just thinking about my picks for the quilt. So I went to Joann's this morning and got a few fabrics to try to switch up my picks for the quilt. I'm thinking that the solids will look better and will add more color to it.
So right now this is what I have. I'm thinking that I still might change a few...this is good cause if I use the cheaper fabric instead of my nice Amy Butler fabric, I will feel much better if I mess this thing up.

I'm in way over my head!!

So I signed up for my first quilt class..well I think I signed up for an advanced class. Anyhow, its to make a Blooming 9 Patch Quilt from the book Traditions with a Twist. Basically it takes 8 different fabrics and all of these blocks pieced together to look something like this.

I think that you can make it however you want, whether you want it to go from dark to light or vice versa, or if you want to alternate to make the lines stand out more. I had the lady at the quilt shop help me and we came up with this...

Of course I stuck to Amy Butler just because she is my favorite (well along with Heather Bailey, and Anna Maria Horner and a few others). Its hard to tell if these prints will actually work. I'm wondering if I need to switch a few of my lighter green ones...
Any suggestions? Its hard to try to visualize the final product.

Oh and do you know how scary it is to throw $100 bucks worth of fabric in the washer and hope that it comes out ok? I think that I almost had a heart attack, but luckily it all came out well, so now its all washed and preshrunk just like it should be.

Celebrating my birthday early!

Oh and can you see the smoke from the pot?

Oscar loves to stare out the window

A few weeks ago some annoying people moved in across the street. Well the first week and a half they decided to have a yard sale everyday so I had like a zillion people parking on my street and the dogs were constantly going nuts. Then they decided to move all of their crap in their carport and the backyard, oh and a camper too. I think that there are like 10 people living there, all grown adults mind you. But the yard just looks like trash heaven. Now the idiots have set up some sort of "shrine" right by the sidewalk, which consists of a water fountain, plants, a table, bench and some sign that I can't even read. Well someone came and stole some of their precious crap from their shrine and now they have a keep out sign posted. But to add to their annoyance Oscar barks at them everytime they go to sit at their stupid shrine.
Needless to say I am considering moving. Not just cause of the annoying neighbors but because I'm sick of this busy street.

September Purse

I made this purse using only 2 fat quarters and a 16" zipper. Plus I made a zipper pull. This is a perfect little purse to carry only the necessities.
I just love the print too, its perfect for fall.

Oh and I'm still trying to master the whole zipper thing and putting the liner in the purse, but hopefully when I visit my grandma and my mom they will teach me a few things.

Oh, and I'm saving my birdie bag to make when I go up I can get some good help to make the bag perfect.

Starbucks Cup

So I bought this wonderful starbucks clear reusable cup a few months ago and I have been looking for more ever since so that I could buy my mom one, but low and behold they don't make them anymore. So I checked and I guess they were a summer thing. Well one of the postings on their site said that they were selling on ebay for like $40 bucks. I didn't believe it so I checked and HELLO this one is already at $46 bucks. These cups cost $12 when they were in the store and I only found them in one starbucks store and they had 2.

(Sorry mom but you aren't going to get one now)

TA DA!!!

I am soo happy right now. I finished my Amy Butler blanket and I just love it!!!! Its about a normal throw blanket size. Actually its a perfect baby's blanket size, and if one day I have a girl I'm definately giving it to her. There is no rhyme or reason to the patterns I just pieced it all together to make it look cool.

Now on to my next project!!! I think I will work with a blue color scheme of Amy Butler's fabric next time cause the quilt shop just got a bunch of new prints in blue in and they are wonderful!

This is the front of the blanket

Another picture of the front

This is the back. I'm definately glad that I took Kelly's advise and did different prints on the back too.

Risotto update

Well the Risotto that I made seemed to get alot of comments, some good and some bad. Here is a risotto recipe with peas and bacon just like I made. Try it yourself and see if you like it. I guess I'm not crazy to put these together cause obviously there are alot of recipes on the web for it. My favorite risotto that I make is Giada's mushroom risotto with peas. You can get that recipe on the food network website, easy to make and delicious.

Yummy Yummy Risotto

So I have like nothing to eat at my house and I'm too lazy to go to the grocery store, plus it doesn't help that Tom won't go cause he's lazy and I don't get paid until I had to basically raid the cabinet to find something.
So I had some bacon, some rice, and some I made a bacon and pea risotto. Pretty yummy actually. I think anything with bacon is yummy.

Oh and the little black dots is pepper...I think I might of went overboard on the pepper. Oh well

Don't you just love this fabric?

It's Sandi Henderson's Farmers Market and I think this will be my next quilt project, after I finish my Amy Butler quilt, and make my Tula Pink Flutterby yeah probably a short while away.
I don't even think that my quilt shops have this fabric yet. So I will have to buy it on ebay or online or something.
But isn't it just too cute?
